Songs of Silence

Set inside a century-old piano bar in New York’s West Village, this project documents candid moments of people immersed in music, conversation, and their own thoughts. As Broadway songs fill the room, individuals shift between presence and introspection — some engaged, others quietly distant within the crowd.

Photographed through natural observation, the work explores the contrast between sound and silence, where music becomes a backdrop to internal experiences. Subtle gestures, pauses, and glances reveal emotions that unfold in shared spaces yet remain deeply personal.

In their silence, the photographs echo the mood of a bar that has held over a century of stories.
